Agent in Training - Medicare

We’re hiring a full-time Medicare Agent in Training to join our local, independent insurance agency.

This is an in-office role based in Springdale, AR, focused on supporting Medicare clients and licensed agents while building toward a future role as a licensed Medicare advisor. The position starts in a support-heavy capacity and transitions into a hybrid support and sales role over time, with full advisor responsibilities developing as licensing and training progress (typically 12–18 months).

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: In person - Springdale, AR
Pay: $36,000 - $42,000 (salary-based)

What you'll do (Phase 1 – Training & support focus)

In the beginning, you will work closely with our principal agent and internal team to learn Medicare fundamentals, agency processes, and client management systems.

  • Handle inbound client communication (calls, emails, texts) regarding Medicare coverage, billing, and plan changes  
  • Support licensed agents with applications, follow-ups, and carrier updates  
  • Maintain accurate client records in CRM systems
  • Upload, verify, and organize compliance-related documentation  
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate client needs with carriers  
  • Learn Medicare products, workflows, and compliance standards through hands-on training  

What this role develops into (Phase 2 – Hybrid support + sales)

As training and licensing progress, responsibilities expand to include:

  • Direct client interaction with Medicare beneficiaries and warm inbound leads
  • Assisting with plan recommendations and enrollment support under supervision
  • Managing portions of the client lifecycle from initial inquiry through follow-up
  • Increased ownership of client relationships and case management
  • Transition into a licensed Medicare advisor role over time  

This agency operates primarily through referrals and warm inbound inquiries, not cold outreach.

What we're looking for
  • Strong digital literacy skills
  • Verified typing speed of at least 50 WPM with 95% accuracy to successfully manage high-volume correspondence during busy season
  • High attention to detail with consistent, accurate documentation and data entry
  • Comfortable working across multiple systems and learning new tools quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow structured workflows
  • Clear, professional communication—especially over phone and email
  • Dependable, consistent, in-office attendance
  • Ability to handle confidential information with care and accuracy
  • Able to pass background check and meet licensing requirements
  • Willing to obtain insurance license within 6 months
  • Licensed candidates are strongly preferred but not required

Role expectations

This is a structured, process-driven environment that requires:

  • Full-time in-office attendance (Monday–Friday)
  • Managing multiple tasks and client requests throughout the day
  • Frequent phone and computer-based work
  • Following established compliance and documentation procedures precisely
  • Taking responsibility for accuracy and follow-through in all tasks
  • Maintain confidentiality and properly handle sensitive personal and health-related information

What this role is NOT
  • Not remote
  • Not a low-activity or “light admin” position
  • Not purely sales from day one
  • Not a cold-calling sales role
